Von Pirat*innenschiffen und prekären Bewegungen

We published this little booklet accompanying two exhibitions in spring 2024, organized by the artist collective Sandkasten Syndikat.

On May 1st, the artist collective Sandkasten Syndikat hijacked FLUCC Vienna (the ‚cultural steamboat‘ at Praterstern) and sent out an emergency signal to allied cultural workers: MAYDAY!

Together with local actors from Mz* Baltazar’s Laboratory, Kollektiv Raumstation, RAD Performance and friends, we searched for critical-creative answers to precarious living and working conditions. Including a discourse-theoretical debate, the publication brings together narratives of pirate care, civil disobedience and international precarity movements.
